When a solution is on one side of a membrane, but the solvent is in
such great quantities that it flows through all available channels, even
gaps between membrane molecules, it often forces small amounts of solute
through along with it, despite whatever situation of equilibrium or
membrane potential may exist; this phenomenon is referred to as SOLVENT
DRAG. (FYI: it most often occurs in the small intestines, where it is a
primary method of sodium absorption. So, other UFFL owners may expect SD
to simply digest their woefully inadequate squads. :-) )
