Bake-O's 34 - Rage 14 |
---|
Bake-O's get 22 big points from Olandis Gary and Jason Elam on Monday Night to pass Rage and leave them far behind. Dan's guys are now 3-8 and in an interesting development, have 119 points in their 3 wins to go along with 101 points in their 8 losses. I sense a correlation... Rage get a fairly nondescript performance from their guys (sorry Joe) and tumble into the ORRS cellar and don't figure to go much higher. Unless they win some games between here and the end of the season. It could happen. Yeah, and Fred Lane could score someday too. |

Iron Men 5 - Solvent Drag 5 |

For almost seven years I have been under the impression that the worst game in UFFL history was the 6-3 TWC (Nick Lowery) d. 42nd Airborne (Chip Lohmiller) tussle in Wk 12, 1992. Well, there's now a new low. There was one more point scored in this game, and the kickers only scored three points as opposed to all nine in the other...BUT...this was a tie. I hate ties anyway, but a 5-5 tie? Ugh. It's like two mules fightin' over a turnip. Even worse, take away two unusual scores -- a Favre 2 pt conversion pass and a David LaFleur TDC (David LaFleur?!?) -- and it's a 4-2 win for Iron Men. Ugh. Iron Men now have two ties in a row! They're the first team ever to do that. Is this an honor? I don't know. I doubt it. |

Lethal Weapon 4 22 - The Windmilling Chaos 11 |

Ironically, neither team in that horrid tie had a Lohmiller performance, but TWC did. The offensive (and I do mean offensive) woes continue as TWC falls into the league cellar. Actually, Bake-O's still hold the number one draft slot, as TWC beat them earlier in the year. LW4 moves past Munchen Mavericks into first place in LIMB behind a strong performance by Peyton Manning, who used Jeff George's bye week to push his case for more PT. Hell, he was on the cover of SI last week; may as well play him, right? |

Outlaws 49 - Egomaniacs 31 |
---|
Outlaws win their 5th Mel Gray game of the season. Remarkable. They have 344 points in 11 games, well over 30 pts/game. They win this one behind the legs of Edgerrin James and Martin Gramatica, who had two +50 FG's and maintain their hold on the number one playoff seed (they beat Seattle Blur earlier in the season). Egomaniacs had a great performance as well, riding Ricky Watters' 15 points, but fall to 3-7, staying just ahead of TWC in the battle for the TESS cellar. |

Renegade Rebels 21 - Sea Stags 19 |
---|
Renegade Rebels stay alive in the ORRS race while dealing a blow to Sea Stags' TESS title hopes. RR is now 6-5 and three games behind Outlaws. SS fall to 7-4 and a two-game deficit behind Seattle Blur. Both teams got decently divided games from their teams. Stags were no doubt hurt by the Minnesota bye, with Carter and Moss both taking to the sidelines. Ricky Williams was on the Reb bench with his first career points, but it didn't hurt Bill in the end. RR are in this week's GOTW, and SS get to pound on hapless TWC. Oh joy. Hey Karl, it's almost like having a bye, ain't it! :-) |

Seattle Blur 26 - Munchen Mavericks 23 |
---|
Seattle Blur hold onto the number two seed and Munchen Mavericks fall into 2nd place in LIMB as a good game unfolded here. The Blur got points from six starters. Mavs only got points from two starters, but they were large numbers -- Steve McNair's two TDR's put him onto the UFFL leaderboard in that category with five; not since the heydey of Steve Young has a QB had so many TDR's in a UFFL season (I think. I'm not going to look it up and see for sure). Both these teams will be in tight divisional races down the wire. Should be an exciting second divisional round for all. |
