Munchen Mavericks 26 - Egomaniacs 21 |
---|
Munchen Mavericks stay atop LIMB at 5-3 and keep Ego in the TESS cellar alongside TWC with a strong victory powered by the return of Steve McNair. It was like he had never been gone as he passed and ran like the McNair that he is and scored many points for Brett. Good thing McNair isn't a figment of Carrier's imagination. Knaak watches an excellent UFFL debut performance from Tim Couch go for naught and falls to 3-5. Ricky Watters still hasn't got a TD this year! What up wit dat? |

Outlaws 42 - Lethal Weapon 4 11 |

Outlaws continue their Happy Fun Time Scoring Tour 1999, laying a level 42 on the Weapon, who misfired this week. Outlaws are averaging more than 31 points a game, thus far...that's a lot. TWC, by contrast, is not. Stephen Davis leads the charge this week, outscoring LW4 on one play, a nice long TDR that made Jim Outlawson smile. Ted had to start someone named "Rashan Sheehee" at RB and in the end got nothin' but Vikings. In 1999 that ain't nearly enough, unless you're invading Denmark. But who would do that? What's there that's worth conquering? |

Rage 21 - The Windmilling Chaos 7 |
---|
A bad day for Parkview High School alumni in the NFL. Matt Stinchcomb remains on IR in Oakland, Mark Thomas gets carted off the field after a scary injury in Indy, and Brett Conway languishes on the TWC bench, 18 points and a TWC victory on the tips of his toes, another TWC loss on the board. Oh well. At least Parkview won last week and remains ranked No. 2 in the state in AAAA. Go Big Orange! Oh, and Rage is 3-5 now. And TWC really needs Thurman Thomas to come back from that injury thing he's got. Or maybe I could just pay my league tithe and draft someone new. Sigh. Congratulations to Joe V for moving ahead of Rod in ORRS. |

Renegade Rebels 22 - Iron Men 19 |
---|
Renegade Rebels get the duke as well as their first WR points by someone not named Raghib since 1993. They're 4-4 now, their first visit to .500 since 1946. Or so it seems. Iron Men fall to 3-5, kept out of the LIMB cellar only by the grace of God, Brett Favre's arm, and Dan Shim's injury woes. I still can't figure out why Brian is only starting one TE. And Bill, I know you won, but how the heck does Ricky Williams run 40 times, gain 179 yards, and not score? Answer: he plays in New Orleans. That's why I traded you the pick. Of course, then Jamal got hurt and I plunged into fantasy football hell (and I'm not talking about Benjamin Temko's house), but that's another story. |

Seattle Blur 25 - Bake-O's 15 |
---|
Teams moving in different directions collide and sort of bounce away unharmed, luckily for Dan. All he needs is for Jason Elam (out of Brookwood High School, BTW, whom Parkview beat this year -- HA!) to pull a groin or something. Hate those groin pulls. Kurt Warner continues to play like he's an old Buster Faulkner and elevates Seattle Blur to 7-1. Nice job, Iowa Barnstormer guy. Poor Dan falls to 1-7. Did he really win two Fantasy Bowls in a row once? I'm surprised he's not doing better this year, having drafted Mario Bates and all. |

Sea Stags 38 - Solvent Drag 30 |
---|
Da Stags and Da Drag run it up to get the Mel, making Karl 5-3 and Rod 3-5. Poor Rod. He's scored exactly 30 points this year twice and lost both times. Is that snakebit or what? Dunno, but this week he was just Staggered by the return to early '90's vintage scoring by Sea Stags. It wasn't the run-and-shoot of Rice, Sharpe, and Rison, though, but the standard set of Bledsoe, Faulk, and Carter that did the deed. Not to mention John Kasay, who once kicked at Clarke Central High School. They beat Parkview 48-7 or something when I was in the 10th grade (we scored first, though, for the moral victory) . They were good. I think Kasay had already graduated by then, though. |
