Iron Men 19 - Renegade Rebels 18
Iron Men go to 4-0 behind a UFFL record-tying 5 TDP's from Brett Favre and hold off Renegade Rebels for their second one point win in a row. Amazingly, Renegade Rebels fall to 1-3,their worst record ever, losing back-to-back games for only the third time ever, the last time coming in Wks 8-9, 1994. Poor seasons (and a bad break this week) for Kordell Stewart and Eddie George continue to rock the Rebs. The Rebels play Outlaws this week. In past years, this was a foregone conclusion. In 1998, though, anything could happen.

Lethal Weapon 4 25 - Rage 19
Joe must be having kittens. Why on earth he left Duce Staley on the bench is beyond me. Joe, he scored three TD's!!! Didn't you know? Geez. Draft a guy, then leave him on the bench. Anyway, if there was still a Bonehead, Joe would be it this week. Rage falls to 0-3-1, having lost those three games by a total of 12 points. LW4 sits Peyton Manning down, gets three +50 scoring plays, and raises their record to 2-2. Coincidence, or three pretty good things that all happened to Ted in the same week? You be the judge.

Munchen Mavericks 21 - The Windmilling Chaos 19
TWC is 0-4 for the first time ever because Tony Martin DROPPED THE &#^$% BALL. Sorry, I shouldn't editorialize. Each team featured a two-TD QB/WR combo. The difference was the kicking game, where Mike Hollis outdid Ryan Longwell. MM are now 2-2, having won their last two games and will meet Bake-O's, a team going in the opposite direction, next week in a crucial middle-of-the-pack determination game.

Sea Stags 34 - Bake-O's 32
Mel GrayBake-O's fall to 0-2, losing a wonderful game that was decided on Sunday Night as Priest Holmes and Eric Zeier outdueled Carl Pickens. The Sea Stags (now 3-1) renaissance continues as their players caught 7 TDC's (the league record is 8 (held by SS)), 3 of which were +50, tying a UFFL record held by Seattle Blur. The only mistakes Karl made were not drafting Bubby Brister (6 pts) (who would have ever thought not drafting Bubby Brister would ever be called a mistake?) (never trust the newspapers, bud) and leaving John Kasay (15 pts.) on the bench. Could have had 53 points but noooo.....had to make it hard on yourself.

Seattle Blur 32 - Egomaniacs 19
The GOTW wasn't, but it was still pretty good. Steve Young did all he could (in other words, he played Atlanta), but it wasn't enough, as the RB's go scoreless, Seattle (Seahawks, not Blur (duh)) goes thud, and Ego lose their first game of the season. Coincidence, or just three pretty bad things that all happened to Knaak? Hey Bill, it could have been worse; you could have started Ryan Leaf! Then again, Fred didn't necessarily have to start Donnell Bennett, whose 3 TDR's gave him a league-high 18 points and single-handedly won the game for SB. It's true.

Solvent Drag 28 - Outlaws 16
Bad news for Jim: Outlaws lost and are 1-3. Good news for Jim: they scored more than one point. With John Carney again leading the charge, Outlaws fell short as Erik Kramer's improbable 4 TDP day (none to Conway, dadgumit (sorry, TWC vent; my bad)) combined with the usual Del Greco excellence to lead the Drag to a win and a 3-1 record. TOP OF THE WORLD, MA! Well, not really, but they are leading their division, since they defeated Sea Stags in Week 2.
