Egomaniacs 27 - Bake-O's 19 |
---|
Knaak started the proper RB's, and as a result, Egomaniacs defeat the two-time defending champs to gain the early edge in the BELT division. Watters and Edwards both scored to lead the way as Steve Young spent the week on the bye list. Bake-O's got a solid game from their K and QB, but their Denver connection faltered for the first time, and they fall to 2-1 on the young (not Steve) season. |

Iron Men 22 - Rage 21 |
---|
Rage continue their fall from grace with a narrow loss and fall to 0-2-1. IM get the win (despite only starting six players) courtesy of Deion Sanders and his inexplicable second TD of Monday Night, which gave Richie Cunningham one more XP attempt and denied Rage the tie and no doubt had Joe V. gnashing his teeth (dare I say it?) in rage (I said it). Of course, had Brian not started Greg Hill Joe would have won. Which is why this game is so much fun!!! |

Lethal Weapon 4 29 - The Windmilling Chaos 19 |
---|
Mel Gray milestones: LW4 have now appeared in seven Mel Gray games (going 3-4), more than any other team, winning this one behind Gary Anderson (the K, not the RB)'s 17 points. TWC, Mel's own team, appear here in their first Mel Gray game, leaving Outlaws as the only team never to appear in one. Oh yeah, TWC's also 0-3, their defense (if you wheel) sucks, and their WR's are starting to get hurt again. Sorry, had to vent. |

Munchen Mavericks 15 - Solvent Drag 10 |
---|
Solvent Drag blow it!!! Sorry Rod, but it's true. The guys could have been 3-0. Alas. Emmitt's MNF woes contibute as Al Del Greco turns in one of the week's two Chip Lohmiller efforts (a Chip Lohmiller game is when a K does all his team's scoring, in case you had forgotten (there's no graphic for it though)). MM emerge from the schneid none the worse for wear and prepare to meet their non-division foes, dukes up and ready for action. |

Sea Stags 19 - Renegade Rebels 12 |
---|
Amazing Trivia Time: For the FIRST TIME EVER Renegade Rebels have a sub-.500 record other than 0-1. Do you understand that? They're 1-2. That is their WORST RECORD EVER! Only once have they been at .500 above 1-1, and even then they were 2-2. Any other time than that they've been above .500. Amazing. HA!!!!!! THEY FINALLY SUCK!!!! HA!!!! Sorry. Wish projection caused by the state of my own team. Couldn't help it. Oh, congrats to Sea Stags (with their backup K and three Viking WR's) for beating the Rebels even without the help of Deion Sanders. ;-) |

Seattle Blur 26 - Outlaws 1 |
---|
Outlaws return to 1997 "vintage" with this ultimate Chip Lohmiller classic. Also tragic was the loss of the only RB on their roster, James Stewart, to injury. Good thing Jim's paid his league tithe. As for the Blur, excellent games by Mark Brunell and John Hall Make them the most exciting (read: only) 1-1-1 team in the league and give hope for this week's GOTW vs. Egomaniacs. Then again, Hall has a bye this week. Figures. |
