Bake-O's 48 - Lethal Weapon 4 38
Denver continues to be very good for Dan as Terrell Davis ties UFFL records with 30 pts and two +50 TDR's while Shannon Sharpe and Jason Elam combine for 12 more points. As a result, Bake-O's move to 2-0 as they edge a resurgent LW4 offense that was led by Robert Smith's long TDR. Unfortunately for Ted, 38 points can lose a game just as easily as 3, so LW4 fall to 0-2 on the season.

Egomaniacs 33 - The Windmilling Chaos 14
Two teams apparently moving in opposite directions. After a rough year last year, Ego are now 2-0 and on fire. TWC is 0-2, only one loss away from their '97 total, and nearly a quarter of the way to their '97 defensive total. Which is why they're 0-2. The offense is as bad as ever, with only Chandler and Longwell having scored. Ego rides Steve Young's arm and Todd Peterson's foot towards a big game with Bake-O's next week with the BELT leadership on the line.

Iron Men 23 - Seattle Blur 13
The game of the week, wasn't. Iron Men move to 2-0 as the Blur stumble after their Week 1 explosion. Iron Men get a solid game from their RB's, while Seattle Blur lose Dorsey Levens to a broken leg. Gotta hate that. They got a decent game from the rest of the team, just not as good as the one Brian got from his guys. Next up for the Blur, the upstart 1-1 Outlaws.

Outlaws 25 - Rage 20
Speaking of the upstart 1-1 Outlaws, they took out last week's other Mel Gray exploder, as Rage can only muster 20 points and fall to 0-1-1. For once, Rage doesn't get that consistent, all-around game; Adam Vinatieri had 14 of their 20 points. Outlaws are at .500 for the first time since Week 4, 1997, and have that testy Seattle Blur team ahead next week. A win would be huge. Outlaws haven't been above .500 since Week 5, 1996.

Renegade Rebels 31 - Munchen Mavericks 27
Behind Barry Sanders' 24 points (3 TDR/1 +50), Renegade Rebels avoided their first two-game losing streak since 1994 (you read that right) by beating the Mavs for the 9th time in a row (11 if you count playoff appearances (you read that right)). MM has only beaten RR once, and that was in 1993. This one was close, though. Still, the Mavs fall to 0-2 with 2-0 Solvent Drag on the horizion and the perpetually off-the-schneid Rebs get ready for Sea Stags.

Solvent Drag 22 - Sea Stags 20
Solvent Drag defeat Sea Stags to match their best start ever, at 2-0. One more win will give them a team-record three game winning streak. The potential victim? Munchen Mavs, who are reeling (see above). The Drag won this one behind their unlikely leading scorer, WR Eddie Kennison. In classic Mel Gray fashion, the Ken Doll (God love him) ran a punt back for a TD. Maybe the revival of the SS WR corp was just a rumor. Three 0's this week make a fugly hole on the scorecard.
