Week 7 Results

It was a big week for the have-nots in the UFFL as Necrotic Slough (30 pts) and Outlaws (42) break out of their season-long doldrums. At the same time, the league's highest-scoring team, Lethal Weapon 4 managed only nine points against the stifling TWC defense. For the second time this season two players topped 20 points, with Outlaws' RB James Stewart tying one UFFL record with 30 points and setting another, with five TDR's. RR's Barry Sanders set another mark with two +50 TDR's. Quite an offensive day in the UFFL.

Bake-O's 20 - Sea Stags 11
Bake-O's rolled to their fourth win in a row despite Denver and Baltimore both being on bye. Amazingly, having six players from the Falcons/Saints match-up didn't hurt, either. Morten Andersen had a strong game, and a subpar performance from the SS WR corps gave the W to the Shimguys.

Munchen Mavericks 23 - Egomaniacs 12
A strong performance from Steve McNair and the continued ineptitude of the Dallas offense kept Egomaniacs from building on their win from last week, and they fall to 1-6. In the shocker of the season, we are seven weeks into the season and Emmitt Smith is STILL SCORELESS!!! Say it ain't so, Robert Newhouse!

Necrotic Slough 30 - Iron Men 25
Necrotic Slough finally snap out of whatever funk they've been in all year. A solid showing throughout the line-up give Rod his first win of the season. The victims were Iron Men, who lose despite Warrick Dunn's third +50 TD play of the year. The Cowboys' rough year contributed directly to this loss as well, as Opie Cunningham comes out of Monday Night with only four points.

Outlaws 42 - Seattle Blur 11
Well, he didn't get Sterling Sharpe from Karl, but Jim's guys busted out in a big way behind James Stewart's 30 points to finally go over 100 points for the season. The Blur continue an uneven season with their worst showing of the year. Mark Brunell hasn't necessarily been the shot in the arm Fred had hoped he would be. Stay tuned to see if Stewart can do it again next week...

Renegade Rebels 31 - Liquid Ham 27
Two words: Barry Sanders. The second RR player to score 27 points this year, his remarkable performance has placed RR on top of their division, This Mel Gray game wouldn't have been, had it not been for Sanders' 27 points and Vinatieri's 18. Love those big games! The big Slough-Ham trade (see Transactions below) paid immediate dividends for the Pork as TE Wesley Walls scored in his first game with his new team.

Lethal Weapon 4 9 - The Windmilling Chaos 9
Yet again, the TWC defense holds a team to its lowest output of the year. Again, again, the TWC offense failed to respond, totaling its lowest total. A pathetic game, really. TWC is struggling to score and odd roster distribution caused LW4 to have to start two players with byes. A late Monday TDP by Frerotte brought the tie into being.
