Bake-O's 36 - Munchen Mavericks 9
Bake-O's roared back to life to absolutely destroy the Mavericks in a game that failed to live up to its "Pick 'em" status as envisioned by Billy the Geek. The absence of the injured Jason Elam did not hurt BO as Vinny Testaverde and Terrell Davis led the way. The Broncos were also represented in the Mavs' offense, as John Elway's TDR saved Brett from Chip Lohmiller-esque infamy.

Egomaniacs 19 - Necrotic Slough 10
Well, somebody had to do it. Necrotic Slough win the Peyton Manning Bowl by losing the game. Egomaniacs end a five game losing streak and extend the Slough's own streak to five. Emmitt Smith is still scoreless, believe it or not. Thanks be to Ricky Watters. And Al Del Greco...

Liquid Ham 28 - Lethal Weapon 4 27
One of the two Mel Gray games this week, this one featured the Monday Night Comeback of the Week, as Adam Vinatieri kicked Liquid Ham to victory. The Pork again get points from five starters, something they're becoming accostomed to this year. The high-flying LW4 waste another good effort from rookie sensation Antowain Smith as Liquid Ham move into first place in the LMON division.

Renegade Rebels 40 - Outlaws 4
Two words: Kordell Stewart. He scored the second-highest single-game point total in UFFL history (Emmitt Smith had 30 in 1995). He became the second QB in UFFL history to have a +50 yd TDR (Steve Bono, also in 1995). He led the Rebs to the biggest blowout thus far in 1997. Of course, it didn't hurt that they played the (two-time) Chip Lohmiller Award-winning Outlaws, whose offense needs help now (Jim, see if Karl will trade you Sterling Sharpe...).

Seattle Blur 28 - Iron Men 27
The second Mel Gray game of the week saw Seattle Blur win behind the (effective) return of QB Mark Brunell and a big game by K John Hall. Iron Men got a consistent, effective performance from their backs, but it wasn't enough, as they fall one bubble short of plumb and drop to 2-3-1 on the season.

Sea Stags 20 - The Windmilling Chaos 12
Once again, the stifling TWC defense holds a team to its lowest output of the year. However, the TWC offense failed to respond, also totaling its lowest total. TWC's four game win streak ends as the Stags increase their own streak to four. Drew Bledsoe's production was down, but a +50 TDC by Nap Kaufman made up for it. Interesting Fact: TWC got their first points ever from a TE, as Tony Gonzalez got a TDC.
