Week 4 Results

The third-highest scoring week in UFFL history saw two teams score more than 50 points (including an all-time UFFL single-game scoring record) and two players score more than 20 -- the first time either of those have happened in the same week. In honor of the occasion, both teams scoring 50+ points will receive the Mel Gray Award for the week. In another interesting development, all four teams in the SLRS division are 2-2-0. Now, on with the scores...

Bake-O's 50 - Liquid Ham 34
The season's highest scoring game thus far (84 points), An incredible game for Bake-O's RB's (two +50 TDR's and a TDP) led the way to a franchise record 50 points. Incredibly, they only earned second place money for the week! LH got a +50 TDR of their own from Curtis Martin to score their highest total of the year, yet fall to 2-2-0 on the season.

Lethal Weapon 4 58 - Iron Men 24
Lethal Weapon 4 scored an all-time UFFL record 58 points behind the 3 TDR's of No. 1 UFFL Draft Pick Antowain Smith. It was a big day for QB's as Jeff George continued his hot season and IM's Brett Favre broke out with 5 TDP's. Incidentally, the former single-game record was 55 points by Egomaniacs last year in Week 8. This season, three teams (including, ironically, Egomaniacs) have yet to score 55 points. Who knew?

Munchen Mavericks 27 - Seattle Blur 23
Munchen Mavericks stand alone as the only undefeated team in the league after a strong Monday Night showing by Mike Hollis brought them from behind against the Blur, who saw Scott Mitchell throw two TDP's for the fourth consecutive week. The Blur get an unexpected gift as Mark Brunell returns early from his injury. He could return to the line-up next week to face TWC, his former team.

Outlaws 22 - Egomaniacs 10
In one of the continuing sagas of the early season, Egomaniacs fall to 0-4, having only scored 52 points. Where, oh where, is the vaunted Ego offense? After high scoring seasons the last couple of years, it seems to have just gone away... Not to offend, but there really isn't much else to comment on in a game between two of the league's lowest-scoring teams, other than the fact that John Carney scored 16 points, which represents 32% of Outlaws' total offense for the year.

Sea Stags 23 - Necrotic Slough 16
Sea Stags continue to follow Drew Bledsoe's hot start to move to 2-2-0 on the season and the Slough have yet to win a game. Bledsoe threw 2 TDP's -- his 12 on the season lead the league -- and consistent performances from the SS WR's put them over the top. And just out of curiosity, does anyone else notice both Carolina tailbacks in Rod's starting lineup?

The Windmilling Chaos 35 - Renegade Rebels 17
TWC's offense finally explodes with a season-high 35 points and the Rebels stumble to a mere 17. The win sets up TWC for a match with Seattle Blur (whom they have never beaten) next week. 49er Terry Kirby's 2 TDR's against Atlanta outdueled his QB, Steve Young, and TWC's Elvis Grbac finally got going, with 3 TDP's.
