Rage 18 - Lethal Weapon 4 15 |
---|
Poor Ted. This seems to happen to him every year. He scores all those points during the season then gets to the playoffs and what? Nada. Didn't it used to be Karl this happened to? I'd cackle gleefully but hey - at least they make it to the playoffs every now and then. Grump. I'd call Ted a bonehead for not starting Jeff Garcia, but then again, he didn't start him a single time all year so why would he change now? Then again again, who knew (aside from Jim) that Edgerrin would take over Monday Night? I was fully expecting a LW4 comeback. Alas, it was not to be, and Da Wep is hied hence. Kudos to Fred Taylor, who singlehandedly (or does it just seem that way?) got Joe into the playoffs and then won this game for him. Rage moves on now to face the Knaaks in the league semifinals. LW4 moves to the #7 draft pick. Oh, and for what its worth to anyone, TWC would have beaten Rage this week, 32-18. You got lucky, Joe. Wait 'til next year. Grrrrrr... |

Renegade Rebels 40 - Outlaws 40 |

Can't call it a comeback, because they didn't win, but Outlaws stirred our emotions with a riveting effort on Monday Night. Edgerrin James scored 3 TDR's to pull Outlaws even, but couldn't get them over the hump. A missed Martin Gramatica FG is all that stood between Jim and the second round...unless you count Troy Brown and Terrell Owens on the bench with points. Jim gets the Bonehead for leaving them there. The Rebels get 3 TD's (including 2 TDC's!) from Eddie George and 4 TDP's from McNabb and move on to face Seattle Blur in the semis - the UFFL Establishment vs. the young upstart defending champ - it's sort of like the Sixties...which is where Fred's score might have been if he had been playing this week, I dunno. Anyway, Outlaws will settle for the #8 draft pick next year, lick their wounds, and plot their revenge. |
