Egomaniacs 30 - MacBain's 69th Highlanders 19
Kevin Dyson stayed on the bench for MacBain this week, but it didn't matter. Egomaniacs rode the arm of Daunte Culpepper, the legs of Charlie Garner, and very little else, actually, to the win and move to 2-3 on the season. Who needs a kicker anyway? I stand corrected. Save your money, Bill. Only a loss to TWC earlier in the season keeps them in the TOBE cellar. MacBain get a good all-around effort, just not enough of one, and fall to 2-3. Funny how two teams can have similar records but appear so different. And I'm not talking about the fact that Ego's logo is a mouse. By the way, Rod, you never answered my bodhran question from last week.

Iron Men 28 - Rage 24
Hie thee hence, Dennis Boyd!!! Iron Men win their first game of the year, leaving Rage with a three game losing streak in this thriller. Matt Stover had four FG's, but Jon Kitna couldn't quite get it done on Monday night for Joe V, and Rage is left at 2-3 with Seattle Blur on the horizon. At least the Rams are on bye this week, Joe. The Szy Guys win their first game of the year behind Brett Favre's best game of the year and a strong game by the returning Steve Christie. Next step for the Ferric Dudes is a winning streak. Brett might have something to say about that, though.

Lethal Weapon 4 17 - Bake-O's 4
Bake-O's make the big switch to the Standard offense just in time to only score four points. Way to go, Dan! (Like I'm one to talk...) Not much else he could have done, though; it was an icky weekend all the way around for Bake-O's this week. Not quite so icky for LW4, who got just enough from Peyton and Gary to get by. They are out of the LRMS cellar as Ted had hoped, and Outlaws next week could be one of those games...either 5-4 or 50-43, depending on who shows up. Those two teams are funny that way.

Munchen Mavericks 43 - Outlaws 19
The Mavs munch on the Outlaws this week, putting up a season-high 43 behind points from all seven starters - first time all year that's been done in the UFFL. Jerome Bettis's return to form led the way with 12 points. It could have been worse for Jim, if David Boston could make the catches. It could have been better for Jim too...Stephen Davis and his 50 yd TDR were on the bench. There's 12 points right there. Nah, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. No harm no foul, right?

Renegade Rebels 35 - Sea Stags 34
I love it when the Game of the Week lives up to its billing. The Stags were ahead 34-6 after the early games (thanks to Randy Moss's two +50 TDC's), then just sat there watching in horror as the Rebs crept closer and closer (thanks to Marcus Robinson's two +50 TDC's), then Donovan McNabb carved up the Falcons like a Thanksgiving turkey and the Rebs got the one point duke. You know what this was (besides a great game and the Mel-winner?)? It was your Sunday Night Comeback of the Week®!!! Everybody cheer!

Seattle Blur 45 - The Windmilling Chaos 9
The Warner and Wilkins Show continues its march through the UFFL with a thorough thrashing of TWC. The 36 points from those two alone would have won every game played in the league thus far all year. Warner gives up the league scoring lead, Wilkins takes it. This is scary, folks. What will the bye week bring? Cade McNown and Jason Hanson. No slouches, they - I think McNown outscored Warner this week. Even SB's scrubs are pounding the hoi polloi. I hate being hoi, but TWC's new Standard offense only scored nine points and the defense sucks. Oh well. At least I should get Fred's first round draft pick next year. Unless Seabas gets hurt, which he probably will, just to spite me. Bastard.
