Bake-O's 31 - The Windmilling Chaos 22
The King has yet to be crowned. TWC goes down in flames despite Jason Elam's back doing the same. It was far too late by that time. The former Brookwood Bronco put a stake through the heart of The Chaos with 13 pts worth of kickery. The valiant effort of Tim Chrebet-or is it Wayne Dwight? (I think they're secretly the same guy (kinda like Bill and Brett))-and Brian Griese were not enough to offset Elam, Beuerlein, and the ever-emerging Fred (Mr.) Beasley. You know, with Elam hurt, I looked at Dan's roster...if he didn't already have Morten, I was going to suggest he draft Don Cockroft. Next week: BO vs. EGO in the ongoing Battle of Shim's Living Room, and TWC gets Outlaws, who should have been there but weren't.

MacBain's 69th Highlanders 26 - Iron Men 22
Somebody break out the oil can! And I don't mean Dennis Boyd! Whatever happened to that guy, anyway? He was pretty good even if he was a total flake. He was no Bruce Hurst, though. You know, I remember seeing a game on TBS during the players strike in 1981 - they were showing Richmond Braves games to make up for the lack of major league ball (such as it was in Atlanta in '81) - anyway, I saw Richmond vs. Pawtucket one night - Hurst pitched for Pawtucket against Steve Bedrosian. Pretty cool, that...oh, and speaking of Bedrock, I saw where he's on the school board in Coweta County now...what? The game? Oh yeah, that's right! ROD WINS!!!

Outlaws 45 - Egomaniacs 25
They're ba-a-a-a-ack!!! Outlaws just flat go off, putting up 45 points on poor Knaak, who scored more points than he did last week, but lost. Timing, Bill, is everything in this game. Outlaws get 3 TDR's from Rich Gannon, the second week in a row a QB has done that. Different teams, though. Ironically, it was Knaak's guy last week! Go figure. One last oddity...the third game on the schedule has copped the Mel two weeks in a row now...will it be three? Let's see...it's Lethal Weapon 4 vs. Munchen Mavericks in Week 3. Probably not gonna get the Mel. Unless Akili Smith has 3 TDR's...you never know...

Rage 37 - Lethal Weapon 4 22
Rage continue the 2000 campaign as limply as they began, eking out only 37 points with Antonio Freeman languishing on the bench. Will they maintain the fast start? You know, they're on pace to score 518 points this year. That's a lot more than Outlaws scored last year. Then again, Mike Alstott's probably not going to score 26 TD's, so they probably won't get there. Then again, he might, the way he's going, and they might. LW4 get the good effort from Peyton Manning but Tiki Barber was on the bench again, and they fall to 0-1-1. Rage get Sea Stags next week, and it just might be the Game of the Week (but you'll have to scroll down to find out (read the rest of the reviews along the way though, just for kicks!))!

Sea Stags 25 - Munchen Mavericks 24
Sea Stags kissed their sister last week; here they kicked their brother in the teeth! Actually, it was a TDP from Drew Bledsoe that did the trick in the Monday Night Comeback of the Week®!!! I haven't seen a comeback this dramatic and this abrupt since the Hundred Days! Hey, if Dennis Miller can do it, I can. Sea Stags have no single hero, getting a good solid effort from everyone in one of those classic Joe V. kinda games. For Bill, I mean Brett (sorry), it was a different story - 18 points from Mike Hollis was the difference between the outhouse and...um...and the hallway sorta down the corridor from the penthouse. Steve McNair getting hurt didn't help any either, I'm sure.

Seattle Blur 26 - Renegade Rebels 13
This matchup of the two highest winning precentages in UFFL history ended decisively with a win for SB. Somehow, Jimmy Smith being on the bench didn't hurt Fred, who got a good 13 pt game from Jeff Wilkins to lead the way to the victory and the 2-0 record. Carrier got most of his points from Mark Brunell and falls to 1-1. The Rebs face Iron Men next week, though, so they should be able to get back on the winning track with no problem. The Blur get MacBain, though, and those Scots are gettin' a little rowdy lately. And I just realized...that makes Bain a Rowdy Roddy Piper (even if he is a drummer)!!! Aw yeah! "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of bubblegum!" A classic Rowdy Roddy line, and MacBain's new motto! It's gotta be! Oops...this was Fred's highlight...sorry! This was my "I'm distracted" week...
